Micro-encapsulated LC-PUFA oils

In infant nutrition, long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids (LC PUFAs) are added. For mothers, it is known that maternal intake of Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal brain and eye development of the foetus and breastfed infants. Moreover, it has been shown that docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) intake contributes to the normal visual development of infants up to 12 months of age. These benefits are listed in the EU register for health claims.

Through the use of an advanced micro-encapsulation technology the Vana®-Sana product range was developed and are we able to deliver ingredients that capture the value of essential nutritional oils in a stable and cost-effective delivery form, providing herewith various formulation benefits for Vana®-Sana:

  • shields sensitive oils from oxygen and other reactive ingredients (e.g. minerals)
  • increases shelf life of final formula
  • supply chain benefits: powder instead of liquid oil handling and flexibility

We offer a wide Vana®-Sana product range of micro-encapsulated LC-PUFA oils.
